The Excelsior Trust is looking forward to next year’s sailing, with Norway, Sweden, France Holland and Belgium all set to make some memories for young people on their adventure of a lifetime.
It has been a record breaking year for The Norfolk Boat.
We have helped 212 young people experience the challenge of off-shore sailing with six different sailing organisations around the world.
Adventures Offshore has an absolute bargain voyage – £150 for a seven day fully catered voyage. There are still some berths available on Offshore and Ocean Scout for 27 August – 3 September. The two Oyster 49 yachts sail from Southampton to Ipswich via France and the D-Day landing beaches. No previous sailing experience is necessary. RYA Start Yachting and Competent Crew may be completed on this voyage, and it also qualifies as a DofE residential week. Young people will need a passport for this trip. Adventures Offshore provide waterproof clothing and personal safety equipment.

We are sure that the many young people who sailed with Excelsior’s Bill Ewen would like to join us in paying tribute to a great skipper. Bill, who sadly passed away in March, made such a positive difference to so many young people’s lives. His leadership skills, sailing experience and knowledge is a great loss and he is sadly missed by all who sailed with him. http://www.lowestoftjournal.co.uk/news/tributes_paid_to_skipper_of_lowestoft_s_last_sailing_trawler_1_4476616
